At Java System Solutions our consultants have a wide range of development skills in a variety of server-side disciplines, such as Java (J2EE), scripting (Python, Perl, PHP...), database management and web development. JSS also provides the most comprehensive Remedy platform and CMDB integration systems in the Remedy marketplace.

Our systems are written by technical developers with years of experience, who have previously worked in organisations such as the BBC, Barclays, eBay, Siemens, Sainsburys, HostEurope and BMC Software.

But every company will tell you this, so why not look at some of our work?

High performance web systems and the Remedy platform

The senior Remedy Consultant for eBay approached Java System Solutions with a requirement to build a high quality fraud management website for eBay, using the XML Gateway as a mechanism for their internal development team to communicate with their Remedy platform.

Without the XML Gateway, eBay would have been forced to write large amounts of bespoke (and hence, difficult to support) AR API code to communicate with the Remedy platform. By utilising the XML Gateway, the interfaces to create, update and query the Remedy platform were built in a matter of hours. The internal development team did not have to know anything about the Remedy platform, just adhere to an XML schema. It was quite simply the quickest Remedy platform integration that eBay had ever witnessed.

The output of this project was a high quality web system written by a .NET development team (with no Remedy platform integration knowledge), communicating solely with the Remedy platform through XML documents.

Enterprise integrations

Java System Solutions were approached in order to progress an integration between the Remedy platform and a proprietary system called FormBuilder. FormBuilder had been selected by the UK Local Government as the preferred system for providing online web forms to the public.

The XML Gateway was the obvious choice of product, but integrations are rarely a smooth trouble free process. In this case, cross-borough network security issues prevented the FormBuilder server connecting directly to the XML Gateway. However the FormBuilder product was capable of transmitting information via e-mail and this was easily integrated with the XML Gateway's POP3 connector.

Java System Solutions delivered a high quality integration that no other competitor could hope to have achieved in such a short space of time. The XML Gateway provided the generic business logic required to integrate two totally proprietary systems and deliver Remedy platform functionality to a wider audience.

Interactive web systems

DJB Labcare is an independent company specialising in the sale, maintenance and repair of laboratory equipment within hospitals and pharmaceutical companies.

JSS has ensured the site has cross browser compatibility and is easily found by search engines. Since we went live we have seen a 60% increase in unique traffic.

Colin Bradnam, Managing Director

DJB Labcare initially approached Java System Solutions as their existing website was becoming difficult to maintain with an ever expanding portfolio of products. JSS advised and implemented a product database which can be updated by all staff via a simple administration section. The end user can also decide which products are to feature on the front page and which are special offers. This increased flexibility has allowed us to ensure that the site is always up to date and has a fresh feel for returning visitors.

JSS also implemented many client-side interface enhancements, to ensure prospective customers were left with DJB Labcare in mind.
